The annual Barbados Open Water Festival brings together swimmers from around the world for an exhilarating week of open water races and unforgettable experiences. So, grab your swimsuit, put on your goggles, and get ready to dive into adventure!

Barbados Open Water Festival

The 2023 festival runs from November 8th to 12th and will include swims covering 1.5K, 3.3K, 5K and 10K. You can choose at participate in one or all!

Whether you are an experienced open water swimmer or a beginner looking to take the plunge, this festival caters to all levels of expertise from recreational to elite, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Practice swims will be held in Carlisle Bay and at Batts Rock Beach and Sandy Beach (Worthing Beach) while beautiful Carlisle Bay is the venue for the open water races.

Festival Schedule

Nov. 8th – Practice Swim in Carlisle Bay
Nov. 9th – Practice Swim at Batts Rock Beach
Nov. 10th – Practice Swim at Sandy Beach/Worthing Beach

Nov. 11th: 1.5K Swim in Carlisle Bay
Nov. 12th: 3.3K, 5K, 10K Swims in Carlisle Bay

Each race is meticulously planned to ensure the safety and enjoyment of the swimmers.
