Barbados Watersports
To thoroughly enjoy the crystal-clear waters surrounding Barbados, be sure to indulge in your favourite watersports, or try something new, during your vacation.
Feeling adventurous? Try out stand up paddle boarding or challenge yourself with a kitesurfing lesson! Want a more relaxing experience? Then kayak on the tranquil west coast or go swimming with friendly sea turtles!
As an island, Barbados is the perfect vacation destination to indulge in an array of watersports.
The tranquil west coast of the island offers excellent conditions for swimming, snorkeling, jetsking and catamaran cruising.
As you head south the waves become more lively, perfect for kayaking, boogie boarding and even some beginner surfing. The combination of wind and waves make the southern tip of the island a favourite spot for windsurfing and kitesurfing.
On the east coast you'll find the magnificent waves of the Atlantic Ocean, a surfer's paradise!
Sharp cliffs, strong currents and huge waves make the north coast of Barbados unsuitable for most watersports although there are many lovely bays in the part of the island with welcoming ocean pools for a refreshing dip.
