Barbados Beach of the Week: Reed’s Bay

more Barbados news options

We’re on the west coast of Barbados again this week, this time to explore the beautiful Reed’s Bay beach –  one of the most idyllic beaches on Barbados’ west coast.

This crescent-shaped beach is located between the towns of Holetown and Speightstown and is directly on the bus route for easy access. If you’re driving, there is parking available at the St. Alban’s Anglican Church which sits at the southern end of Reed’s Bay.

Reed's Bay, Barbados

This beach is one of the quietest on the west coast of the island, offering a more relaxing experience than the more popular beaches such as Mullins and Paynes Bay/Sandy Lane. If you’re looking for watersports, lounge chairs, restaurants and bars then Reed’s Bay is not for you. If instead you’re seeking a tranquil getaway where the calm Caribbean waters lap onto golden shores, this is the spot. Catamarans and jetskis do pass by but don’t disturb the serenity of this place.

The waters at Reed’s Bay are perfect for swimming and simply soaking.  The shore is lined with mature trees that provide ample shade. Be sure to bring along towels, beach chairs and some liquid refreshment!

We hope you enjoy spending some time at Reed’s Bay on your next Barbados vacation.
