On June 3rd Barbados will join with the UK in celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
The celebrations will take the form of a street party in St. Lawrence Gap sponsored by Virgin Atlantic. The merrymaking will involve several restaurants in the Gap who will be serving up traditional English fare including:
- fish and chips in newspaper
- English teas, scones and cakes
- Bangers and Mash
- British beer and cider
In addition to the food there’s entertainment for the children – including magicians! – and adults.
St. Lawrence Gap is party-central in Barbados as the mile-long strip comes alive each night with live local entertainment (soca, reggae, R&B, hip hop) at the clubs and dining to suit any taste and any budget from elegant and exotic ocean-front dining to delicious street food.
