For our Barbados beach of the week we’re back on the south coast of the island to explore Maxwell Beach!
Visitors who have been holidayed in Barbados for several years may recall that the beach at Maxwell hardly existed at high tide as the waves made it all the way up the beach almost to the road. Extensive work by the local Coastal Zone office has transformed Maxwell beach into a spectacular tropical paradise.
Maxwell beach is now one of Barbados’ widest beaches with white coral sands sloping towards crystal-clear blue-green waters.
Lively waves in the area make it ideal for windsurfing, hobie cat sailing and boogie boarding. However the eastern end of the beach has calmer waters and is more suitable for families.
