With the addition of the 55,000 square-foot Crane Village to The Crane, it has become the new heart of the resort community. Many times during the day, one can find guests strolling through the cobble stone streets admiring the historic Barbadian architecture reflected through the presence of gas lamps, gabled roofs, wooden shutters and verandahs or simply sitting under one of the colourful umbrellas to have a quick chat while capturing the beautiful atmosphere.
This village provides guests with a number of fine retail outlets for their convenience without having to leave the serenity and peace synonymous with The Crane. One can find a 3,000 square-foot Duty Free emporium which gives guests the opportunity to purchase jewellery, liquor, perfumes, surf wear or a book to read while lounging by the pools. To fully utilise the well-equipped kitchens in the spacious rooms, The General Store also located in the village stocks fresh vegetables, fruits, wine and many other additional convenience items.
Persons can leave The Crane and Barbados with a little keepsake by purchasing a piece of Caribbean art from Aweipo Art Gallery or Tamarind Seed and a T-Shirt or cap engraved with the logo from The Crane Shop.
By night, the gas lamps are lit and The Village emanates a completely different ambiance.
With its traditional Barbadian feel, wrap around verandah and unique furnishings, Bar 1887 is the spot to be in The Village as it offers live entertainment nightly. With a mixture of talented Barbadian musicians, rums from around the world and fine wines and cocktails, Crane guests have found lounging in the new bar a completely enjoyable experience.
D’Onofrios is the next restaurant scheduled to be opened in The Village. This Italian restaurant will offer a more casual dining option for persons not looking for the exact Zen or L’Azure dining experience. Guests will be able to choose from “al fresco dining” on the Patio, bistro style enjoyment in the heart of the Village streets or fine dining in the beautifully designed interior.
