Get ready, Crop Over revelers! When the Kadooment bands hit the road on August 5th, you’ll be heading along an exciting new route.
In recent years, the National Cultural Foundation has been shaking things up with different routes as alternatives to the traditional National Stadium to Spring Garden path. Some routes have been a hit, while others, not so much. This year, responding to popular demand from revelers and band leaders, the parade will once again party down Black Rock Main Road.
The 2024 route kicks off in the area of the Bridgetown Helipad and proceeds along Hincks Street, turning right at Pelican Village onto Prescod Boulevard (Harbour Road). At the roundabout bands will make a right turn and head straight across President Kennedy Drive then turn left towards Eagle Hall, and left again onto Black Rock. After the long Black Rock road it’s left at the bottom of Cave Hill and onto the Mighty Grynner Highway (Spring Garden) for the final lap to Kensington Oval! Phew!
