Barbados Beach of the Week: Brandons Beach

more Barbados news options

Our pick for the Barbados Beach of the Week is…. Brandons Beach!

Brandons is located on the western coastline of Barbados on the outskirts of the capital city of Bridgetown. The waters here are very calm and the area is ideal for swimming and just cooling off in the turquoise waters. The wide beach is the perfect spot to work on your tan 🙂

Brandons is very popular with both locals and visitors to our shores. In the early morning, you’ll find many Bajans on Brandons Beach enjoying an invigorating early morning swim; after work we head to Brandons for exercise, relaxation and socialing; and weekends are particularly popular for family get togethers and all around fun!

Brandons Beach is located within walking distance of the Bridgetown Port where the cruise ships dock. Many cruise visitors choose to spend their day in Barbados at this lovely beach, where they can enjoy lunch at the beachfront Weisers on the Bay restaurant or rum tours, lunch and beach lounging at the Cockspur Beach Club (formerly Malibu Beach Club and Visitor Centre).

Just across the road from Brandons Beach is the Mount Gay Rum Visitor Center where you can see where the oldest rum in the world is made… and enjoy a taste!

Horse riding is available at the Brighton Stables, but call in advance to book.

A four minute walk from Brandons Beach is the historic Kensington Oval where international cricket matches are held and where tours are held daily.  A further 2 minute stroll away is the Legends Cricket Museum, which offers a chance to view cricketing memorabilia and purchase t-shirts, mugs, etc at the gift shop.

We hope you take the opportunity to visit Brandons… you’re sure to enjoy this lovely beach and the surrounding activities and attractions.
