Barbados News: Virgin Atlantic Music Festival Barbados 2008

To celebrate 10 years of Virgin Atlantic flying to the Caribbean, there will be a 10-day music festival with 10 bands and an all day festival over 10 hours with all 10 acts performing.

For ten days some of the UK’s most talented artists are being flown in to perform at various locations across Barbados in what promises to be an international musical extravaganza!

This is the second year for the event and this year promises to be even bigger and better!

The confirmed acts so far are:

• The Martin Harley Band – UK original folk & blues trio
• Hip Slinky – UK original alternative indie rock band
• The Dub Pistols – UK hip hop, breakbeat Ska band featuring the UK’s godfather of Rap Rodney P – BBC TV & Radio presenter
• Limehouse Lizzy – The UK’s leading tribute to Thin Lizzy – the ultimate rockers
• Lanyap – Trinidadian rock reggae fusion band
• The Toby Armstrong Blues Band – a Barbadian blues combination
• Chromatics - a hip hop, rap and reggae band
• David Kirton – an international modern roots and reggae singer songwriter.
• Roadhouse – Barbados’ favourite rock band

Final confirmation still to come from 2 other acts in the jazz and alternative rock genres.

Each night there will be a different act at a different venue in Barbados.

This year all events will be ticket only, we are selling tickets via the bands web sites in the UK and have a special rate from Virgin Holidays for these UK fans to come over for the event. Tickets are priced at $100 for the entire 10-day festival.
