World-famous tenor Luciano Pavarotti will perform Saturday, March 29,
1997 for a special Easter Weekend at Holders Plantation House at Holders
Hill, St. James, Barbados.
Pavarotti has enjoyed many holidays in Barbados and has often expressed
his desire to perform on the island. His chance comes at this year's Holder's
Season which starts March 6th 1997. This year's festival features performances
of La Traviata, a Russian gala and Inkle
and Yarico, an opera first written and performed in Barbados in
the 1800's and being revived here.
The piece de resistance of the festival is the March 29th Pavarotti
concert when the world-famous tenor will be accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic
Orchestra. This exciting performance will take place in the natural open-air
amphitheatre in the immaculate grounds of Holders House.
