This
tree grows in warm climates and is an attractive tropical ornamental tube-like
plant. The blossoms are long tentacle-like, brownish red in colour, with soft
leathery umbrella-shaped leaves.
The blossoms of this tree are said to be laden with honey.... "a perfect
menu for our Barbadian birds and bees!"
This tree can be found in some of our lonely forest gullies as it tends to like
the shade.
Horticulture enthusiasts should not miss a visit to the The
Flower Forest!.
