{"id":982,"date":"2014-09-17T15:50:18","date_gmt":"2014-09-17T19:50:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/barbados.org\/blog\/?p=982"},"modified":"2014-09-17T15:51:52","modified_gmt":"2014-09-17T19:51:52","slug":"barbados-to-host-world-flower-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/barbados.org\/blog\/barbados-to-host-world-flower-show\/","title":{"rendered":"Barbados to host World Flower Show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Barbados has been selected to host the 2017 World Flower Show!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1007\" src=\"https:\/\/barbados.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/flamboyant1.jpg\" alt=\"Flamboyant\" width=\"250\" height=\"196\" \/>The event, which is held every 3 years, will take place in Barbados <strong>from June 18th to 25th, 2017<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Visitors and event participants will surely be wowed not only by the beauty of the flowers and arrangements on display, but also by the incredible flora all across the island:\u00a0 red and gold Flamboyant trees,\u00a0 all colours of hibiscus, beautiful Allamanda flowers, plumbago shrubs, colourful crotons, and our national flower the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.barbados.org\/plants\/pride.htm\">Pride of Barbados<\/a> just to name a few.<\/p>\n<p>Barbados has a rich horticultural heritage, with outstanding performances for many years at the annual Chelsea Flower Show.
