Here\u00a0turquoise\u00a0waters lap gently onto the white sandy beach while small boats bob further out to sea.<\/p>\n<p>Since the waters are very calm this is an ideal beach for <strong>swimmers<\/strong> and for those those visiting with <strong>young children<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The calm waters also lend themselves to <strong>stand up paddle boarding<\/strong>, which is becoming increasingly popular in Barbados. Lessons can be easily arranged with\u00a0<a title=\"Visit Paddle Barbados\" href=\"http:\/\/paddlebarbados.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/paddlebarbados.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In the early morning the grooms from the nearby Garrison Savannah often bring the <strong>racehorses<\/strong> down to the beach for a swim, so if you&#8217;re there early you may spot them!<\/p>\n<p>Another wonderful time to visit the beach is around sunset. Most visitors and locals who bathe at Pebbles Beach will tell you not to miss the opportunity to savour some of the best fish sandwiches (cutters we call them!) from <strong>Cuz&#8217;s Fish Stand<\/strong> right next to the beach. While food trucks are now all the rage in the US, Barbados has always had a culture of food stands and food vans.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Bayside Plaza<\/strong>, about a 4 minute stroll from the beach, offers an enticing array of food including Indian rotis, Jamaican food and local snacks. The buffet lunch at the nearby <strong>Brown Sugar Restaurant<\/strong> is a must-do and will delight you with the very best local dishes.<\/p>\n<div class=\"iframe-wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps\/ms?msa=0&amp;msid=214421978703433574737.0004c5067fa9e69d8aa23&amp;hl=en&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;t=h&amp;ll=13.081179,-59.609732&amp;spn=0.00453,0.004082&amp;output=embed\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" width=\"480\" height=\"450\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Parking<\/strong> is available right next to the beach; if you&#8217;re travelling by <strong>bus<\/strong> disembark on Bay Street and stroll about 3 minutes or so down to the beach.<\/p>\n<p>As Pebbles Beach is located in the <strong>World Heritage Site<\/strong> &#8211; &#8216;<a title=\"explore Historic Bridgetown and Its Garrison\" href=\"http:\/\/barbados.org\/historic-bridgetown-garrison-unesco-barbados.htm?utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=link&amp;utm_campaign=BeachOfTheWeek\">Historic Bridgetown and Its Garrison<\/a>&#8216; within walking distance are a number of historic sites and museums. All can be easily combined with a trip to Pebbles for an amazing day of discovery and relaxation.<\/p>\n<p>If you wish to stay in the area there are several top-class hotels nearby. Located directly on Pebbles Beach are <strong>Holiday Inn<\/strong> (formerly Grand Barbados) and <strong>The Barbados Hilton<\/strong>.
