Small reefs in the area, especially to the south, provide for interesting snorkeling. The beach is quite wide and shade is provided by trees bordering the beach.

There are picnic benches in the wooded area leading onto the beach. You can pack your own lunch or pop across the road to the supermarket for drinks and snacks.

Fitts Village beach is a favourite nesting spot for turtles with many hatchlings beginning their life right here. The Barbados Sea Turtle Project also releases hatchlings on this beach and encourages locals and visitors to assist in this process. Visit their Facebook page for dates and times of releases. Barbados is home to the second-largest Hawksbill turtle nesting population in the Caribbean.
