Wynslo Phillips
Wynslo Phillips has held many successful exhibitions in Barbados. He can also be found show- casing his work at various local craft fairs. He has won awards from NIFCA ( National Independence Festival of Creative Arts ) for his paintings depicting Barbadian village and country life.
His work is playful; based on reality, but with a twist, that is Wynslo's personal style.
Village scenes are painted in bright colours with great emphasis placed on a variety of locally found flowers. These flowers are usually brought to the fore-front of his paintings, whether they be vibrant hibiscus or the looming red ginger lilies.
There is a purposeful naiveté about his work; his rolling landscapes to the use of his so called "lollipop" tree allow for enchanting viewing.
