As the summer ends the waves will soon be heating up in the Caribbean island of Barbados as the surfing season reaches its peak!
September will see the Senior Surfer of the Year and Junior Surfer of the Year competitions for men, women and juniors in both longboard and bodyboard. These events will be held at Parlour in Bathsheba, which often plays second fiddle to the more well-known Surf Bowl but which itself offers excellent waves.
Action at Parlour
In October we do head off to the Surf Bowl for the National Championships, a chance to see the very best Barbados surfers in action at the premiere surfing spot in Barbados.
November is the month of surfing in Barbados! From the 25th to the 27th the Soup Bowl plays host to the Caribbean Junior Championships, showcasing the best young surfers from across the Caribbean and beyond!
While the juniors show off their skills, the big guns are also in show at The November Pro, one of the most eagerly anticipated surfing events in the Caribbean! This spectacular event has attracted surfing legends from across the globe including Kelly Slater!
November also sees a return to Parlour for the BJSC Burkies Junior Surfing Championship, which caters specifically to our junior surfers. Then in December the juniors head to Long Beach for more exciting competition.
Admission to these surfing events is free so be sure to go and check out the action!
